Pony A Team wins Seaside Memorial Tournament

Team players are Billy Berry, Brodie Christman, Max Crowley, Brett Fuller, Michael Garrett, Timmy Giles, Richie Martinez, Brett Newton, Kevin O’Rourke, Nick Pusateri, Marc Rauschnot, and Kolby Rousseu.  Also shown are Manager Rich Martinez, Business Manager Vic Rousseu and Coach Nick Pusateri.

May 28, 2007 - The Morgan Hill Pony A team won the Seaside Memorial tournament.  The boys started off the tournament on Thursday night with a 13-6 win against Soledad.  On Saturday Morgan Hill stayed hot with a 10-0 win against Lafayette Blue in 5 innings.  Sunday the boys pulled out a tough game against Martinez winning 3-1.  Monday was the start of the playoffs for the tournament and Morgan Hill faced a tough Soledad Diablos team winning 4-1 to advance to the championship game.  They defeated the Lafayette Blue team 8-4 to win the championship in the sixteen team tournament.

The team played outstanding defense in the playoff and championship games with no errors.  Brett Fuller received the tournament MVP/Sportsmanship Award for his outstanding pitching.

Mustang A Team Wins San Jose Pacific Tournament

Mustang A Team wins San Jose Pacific Memorial Tournament

Team players are Jack Affourtit, Marc Aguirre, Josh Alaniz, Ethan Cox, Bradley Higgins, Ben Hughes, Mike Porras, Patrick Muller, Ryan Quadros, Mark Quinby, Alejandro Torres and Domenic Zanotto.  Also shown are Manager Mike Zanotto and Coaches Dave Affourtit and Kirk Quadros.

May 28, 2007 - The Morgan Hill Mustang A team won the San Jose Pacific Memorial Weekend Tournament at Hammer field this weekend.  On Saturday, the team defeated Blossom Valley Gray 20-5 and followed that up on Sunday with a 12-0 win over the San Jose Pacific A team.  Monday morning they defeated Lakewood 8-0 to advance to the championship game.   Lakewood defeated the BV Gray team to also advance to the championship game.  The MH Mustang team won the championship game 12-0 over Lakewood. Mark Quinby won the tournament MVP award for his four shutout innings of pitching and two home runs during the tournament.

Mustang 9 Year Old Team Competes in San Jose Pacific Tournament

May 27, 2007 - The Morgan Hill Mustang 9 year old team competed in three games at Hammer field in San Jose.  The team lost their first game on Friday, losing 13-5 to Lakewood which went on to finish in second place in the tournament.  The boys bounced back from that loss with a strong 24-7 win over the San Jose Pacific B team.  On Sunday, they played a very competitive game against the San Jose Pacific A team.  After giving up an early lead, the MH team came back to tie the game and send it to extra innings.  The SJ Pacific team pushed across a run in the seventh inning to win 10-9.

Mustang B Teams Compete in Seaside Tournament

May 27, 2007 - The Morgan Hill Mustang B All Star teams faced very strong competition in the Seaside tournament.  The MH Mustang Black team pitching struggled with it's control in a first game 28-4 loss to the Seaside team on Thursday.  The boys rebounded with an 8-4 win over the Carmel White team on Saturday.  On Sunday, the team faced a very strong Blossom Valley A team and lost 14-1.

On Friday, the Morgan Hill Mustang Gray team played a very competitive game against the Carmel Gray team losing 10-7.  The boys played well but committed several errors that proved to be their undoing.  On Saturday, they lost 17-7 to Watsonville.  The team responded well, playing to a 15-15 tie with the Blossom Valley B team.

Bronco A Team Finishes Third in Seaside Tournament

May 28, 2007 - The Bronco A team finished third in the Seaside tournament.  They defeated Seaside 2-1 to get off to a good start and followed that up with a strong 13-0 win over Watsonville.  They lost 8-5 to the SV Express travel ball team and stumbled again in a 19-9 loss to another travel ball team, the MB Pirates.  They rebounded to blow out Salinas 16-2 giving them a 3-2 overall record in the tournament and third place.

Bronco 11 Year Old Team Finishes Third in San Jose Pacific Tournament

May 28,2007 - The Bronco 11 year old team finished third in the San Jose Pacific tournament.  They lost a competitive game 9-5 to the Blossom Valley B team.  They came back strong to defeat the Lakewood A team 7-6 and finished up with a strong 13-6 win over the Morgan Hill B team.

Bronco B Teams Compete in Seaside and San Jose Pacific Tournaments

May 28, 2007 - The Morgan Hill Bronco Gold B team playing in San Jose lost it's opener 13-7 to San Jose Pacific.  They came back strong in the second game winning 9-8 over San Jose PAL.  They finished the tournament with a 13-6 loss to the Morgan Hill Bronco 11 year old team.

The Morgan Hill Bronco Gray B team playing in seaside faced very challenging competition.  They lost the opening game to the MB Pirates 15-2.  This was followed by a 12-6 loss to the BV Red team.  The final game was a 13-3 loss to Salinas.
