Program Description

To further develop the skills of our young players, MHPB offers a Fall Ball program. The season begins in early September and ends in November. Fall Ball involves Shetland through Pony divisions.

For Shetland through Mustang, Fall Ball is designed to provide a non-competitive, instructional league in which more time is spent developing individual skills. For Bronco and Pony, the games involve competition inter-locks with other leagues with the expectation that players will work to get to the next level.

In either case, Fall Ball provides an opportunity for players advancing to the next division, to become accustomed to the field dimensions, rules, and speed of the game they will face the next spring.

READ THESE important instructions for online registration
- If your child played SINCE 2009 (Spring OR Fall) YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT ALREADY.

- Your account is the email you gave us at registration

A2. Cost is $60 per player. Each player receives a Morgan Hill Pony Baseball shirt and cap. Players can wear their favorite baseball pants. Late signups after 8/31 will cost $75.

Q3. In what Pony division should I register my child for fall ball?

A3.  You should register your child in the same division for fall ball that they will play in the following spring.  The division they will play in next spring depends on your child’s age as of April 30 of the following year.  For example if your child is currently 8 but will turn 9  before May 1 then they will play Mustang in the spring and should sign up for Mustang for fall ball as well.  The division ages are:

4-6       Shetland

7-8       Pinto

9-10     Mustang

11-12   Bronco

13-14   Pony

Q4. What is the schedule for fall ball?

A4. Fall ball runs from September 11th through November 20th. The Shetland, Pinto and Mustang
practices and games usually run from 10am to Noon. As the season nears, your coaches and

Division reps will have more specific schedules.

The schedule for this year is as follows:

Bronco – Bronco field at Burnett Elementary School or at other locations such as Blossom Valley.

Pony – Pony field at Britton Middle School (near the Snack Shack) or at other locations such as Blossom Valley.

Q7. Do all the fall ball practices and scrimmage games take place on Saturdays?

A7. Yes for most divisions.  The higher (Pony, Bronco, Mustang) divisions may have some mid-week practices.

Q8. What is the format for the fall ball activities this year?

A8.  The younger ages will focus more on instruction, while the older ages will include both instruction and games to prepare for spring ball.
