Program Description

Winterball has been more appropriately renamed to Fall Ball

To further develop the skills of our young players, MHPB offers a Fall Ball program. The season normally begins after Labor Day and ends in early November. Fall Ball is designed to provide a non-competitive, instructional league in which more time is spent developing individual skills. It also provides an opportunity for players advancing to the next division, to become accustomed to the field dimensions, rules, and speed of the game they will face the next spring. Fall Ball involves Shetland through Pony divisions.

Print this registration form and fill it out completely. Follow the payment and mailing instructions to submit.

If this is your first time playing in our league, please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate with you
to signups.  No mail-in registrations will be accepted for first time players.

See the answer to Question 1 below for sign-up times.

Q2. What is the cost and what uniforms do we get?

A2. Cost is $50 per player. Each player receives a Morgan Hill Pony Baseball shirt. Players can wear their favorite caps and baseball pants.

Q3. In what Pony division should I register my child for fall ball?

A3.  You should register your child in the same division for fall ball that they will play in the following spring.  The division they will play in next spring depends on your child’s age as of April 30 of the following year.  For example if your child is currently 8 but will turn 9  before May 1 then they will play Mustang in the spring and should sign up for Mustang for fall ball as well.  The division ages are:

5-6       Shetland

7-8       Pinto

9-10     Mustang

11-12   Bronco

13-14   Pony

Q4. What is the schedule for fall ball?

A4. Fall ball will run from Saturday, Sept 15th through Saturday, November 3rd (or extended due to rainouts). The
practices and games will run from 10am to Noon. As the season progresses, your coaches and Division reps will
      have more specific schedules.

Bronco will run through Saturday, November 17th, and game times vary per the game schedule. Some games will be held at Blossom Valley's Herman Middle School.

Q5. If I'm registering my child late how do I find out when the next Saturday practice will be?

A6. Call one of the Division Representatives in the division you are registering your child.  The DR phone numbers can be found on the board page.

Q6. Where do the fall ball practices and scrimmage games take place?

A6. The fall ball practices and scrimmage games are at the following fields:

Shetland – Shetland field at Burnett Elementary School

Pinto – Pinto field at Burnett Elementary School

Mustang – Mustang 2 field at Britton Middle School (the field in the front of the school next to the tennis courts along Monterey Rd)

Bronco – Bronco field at Burnett Elementary School (see coaches for away game directions this Fall)

Pony – Pony field at El Toro Elementary School

Q7. Do all the fall ball practices and scrimmage games take place on Saturdays?

A7. Yes for most divisions.  The Pony division will have some mid-week practices. Bronco will have a few mid-week practices to start off.

Q8. What is the format for the fall ball activities this year?

A8.  The younger ages will focus more on instruction, while the older ages will include games to prepare for spring ball.

Q9. How can I help with Fall ball?

A9. Check with the Player Agent and DRs of the various divisions to see if they need additional coaching help.  Helping prepare the fields is always a necessity.
