How to become a Manager or Coach
Coaching is a rewarding experience and a great way to be a part of your child's athletic career. MHPB is a recreational league, where the goal is to teach our children baseball, sportsmanship and HAVE FUN! If you subscribe to these goals, then you should apply to coach. On your child's application, check the Manage or Coach volunteer boxes, and contract your Division Representatives to learn more about coaching.

All coaches must fill out an application each year, and must be approved by the MHPB Board of Directors. Coaches must also attend all required training (see below).

We recommend having a team meeting with the parents before the start of the season to discuss various issues.  It is important to set expectations up front to make sure the parents and players understand the team goals and rules. Here is a sample team meeting agenda and notes on topics to discuss.

MHPB Coaches Training
As the season nears, it is time for all managers and coaches to prepare themselves by attending MHPB training courses.

All Coaches and Managers are required to attend First Aid every other year.

NEW Coaches are required to take ONE classroom session and ONE field clinic to meet league requirements.  The penalty for not meeting these requirements will be suspension for the last game of the season and first playoff game. The specific rules that apply to coaches attending coach clinics are shown at the bottom of this page.

In addition, there will be an All-Star coach clinic held prior to All-Stars that those selected coaches must attend.

To see all the rules, go to the Documents page:   Rule Documents

RSVP to your Division Rep(s) so we have a head count prior to each session
