Head Instructor - Rich Taylor
Rich Taylor is a former scout for
the New York Mets and Chicago White Sox, in addition to being the former
pitching coach at Pepperdine University from 1980-1986. He has been
instructing youth players for over 25 years, has written 2 books and is
a national clinician on youth pitching and arm strengthening. His
methodologies prepare young pitchers for game situations and his
teaching methods refelect pitching mechanics that are being taught
today. His biomechanical knowledge allows for every young pitcher to
learn correct technique.
Over the past four years
Taylor has instructed numerous players, including 4 high school pitchers
who have been named Pitcher of the Year in their respective league. Six
of his former players have made it to the big leagues, and one is still
playing, Jeff Suppan of the Milwaukee Brewers, who was named the
National League Division Series MVP when he was with the St. Louis
Cardinals. Three of Taylor's former players are now Division I head
coaches, among them Chad Krueter at USC.
Taylor is also the National
Director for Instruction for the ACE Power Band (
www.acepowerband.com ) which is an arm strengthening program tested
by the American Sports Medical Institute and found to have tremendous
results for increasing a youth player's arm strength while developing a
sound year round program.
